28th ICG International Congress

We’re excited to announce that the 28th ICG International Congress will take place from September 24 to 29, 2028, in the city of Fukuoka, Japan!

The event will be hosted at the Fukuoka International Congress Center, featuring a main hall that accommodates 1,000 participants and offers breathtaking views of Hakata Bay.

We look forward to welcoming the global glass science and technology community to this world-class event!

We are pleased to announce that the ICG 2027 Annual Meeting will be held in Ilhabela, Brazil from September 12, to 16th, 2027, bringing together experts from across the global glass science and technology community.

In a historic milestone for the community, Ana Candida M. Rodrigues will serve as the first-ever chairwoman of an ICG Annual Meeting. She will be joined by Edgar D. Zanotto and Hellmut Eckert as co-chairs. All Technical Committee chairs will be invited to join the Advisory Board, and the Organizing Committee has already been appointed.

The event is expected to welcome approximately 300 participants.

Ana Candida M. Rodrigues highlighted that Brazil’s vibrant glass science ecosystem, the strong track record of CeRTEV, and the appeal of the Ilhabela venue promise an inspiring and successful gathering.

The 2026 ICG Annual Meeting would be held together with the 18th European Society of Glass Conference in Lyon, France, from April 13 to 17.

The Annual Meeting and ESG Conference will be held in Lyon’s Convention Center.
